Paying homage to her favorite musical,Rachel Sklar sang ’Sixteen Going On Seventeen[]’ (featured in The Sound of Music) in 38.58 seconds. The record was set at a World Record Appreciation Society event on February 11, 2009. It took place at Pianos, a bar in New York City’s Lower East Side. Maximizing diaphram capacity and rapid vocal movement, Elna Baker stunned an audience by letting loose 112 throat singing notes in 30 seconds, a new universal record. The record was set on November 24, 2008 at a World Record Appreciation Society event in New York City. Event organizers Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson were present to witness and document this feat.
