He used the RecordSetter Book of World Records and the Ripley's Believe It Or Not 9th Annual Book. Both books listed his name and mentioned his Most Consecutive One-Arm Push-Ups On A Raw Egg record.

Doug McManaman balanced a replica of a ship weighing seven pounds on top of a pole on his chin for one minute, 18.84 seconds while kneeling. He set the record during the Cumberland County Exhibition in Oxford, Nova Scotia. Host Randy Geddes, Mallory Wolchuk, and Carl Mcmanaman witnessed the attempt.
