Sara Goldberg verbalized an astounding 20 variations on “meow” in one
minute, a new world record.
She performed the feat on March 25, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation
Society event held at Pianos in New York City. Dan Rollman and
Corey Henderson were present to document the record.
Impressions included are: “cat on a train,” “cat with sleep apnea,” “cat
drowning,” “catatonic,” “cattle call,” “cat watching birds,” “cat
starting an engine,” “cat wanting attention,” “cat high on cat nip,”
“Siamese cats,” “cat hard of hearing,” “cat stuck in a closet,”
“catstration,” “cat on fire,” “cat where there the cat-sitter forgot to
come,” “cat allergic to its owner,” “cat looking at his 401(k) in 2005,”
“cat looking at his 401(k) in 2009,” “cat watching TV,” “cat choking on
hairball,” and “cat on a hot tin roof.”
Yan Grinshteyn played fetch with his cat Oscar Boxes Slinkybum for 4
minutes, 11.44 seconds, a new world record. Timing began when Grinshteyn
first threw a ball to be caught, and ended when Oscar Boxes Slinkybum
brought it back for the last time.
The record was set on June 16, 2009 in Astoria, New York. No witnesses
Marta Pereira and Mafalda Marcos ate a combined total of 20 cat tongue
cookies in 20 seconds. The cookies were placed in their mouths one at
David and three other people stood inside a hula hoop with their pet cat.
Olli Sulopuisto said "meow" audibly 90 times in one minute while standing in a public location.
Bryan M. led 405 people to perform the “meow” rendition of Lean On Me.
Caitlin H. drew 613 cats in her hand.
This record was set as part of Prius Records, a two-day event
streamed live on the Internet. In a 48-hour period, URDB officials
adjudicated 200 Prius-related world records. This was the most records
ever documented in a 48-hour window, a world record in and of itself.
The event took place in Los Angeles, California on March 30th and 31st,

Skaidris Gunsmith attached five streamers to his cat, making it a real-life Nyan Cat.
