@ Emily: actually, I used to practice typing a lot on a website called ZoneDactylo. One of the contest was to type the first 200 digits of Pi as fast as possible. By typing them over and over, I realized two months later that I knew them by heart. I’m the bloke who solved Rubik’s Cubes while recitating Pi, don’t you remember me? :(
@ Matt: I did only one try, precisely to motivate you.
@ Cyril, closing the eyes is too random a way not to see. You can’t help blinking and all. I assure you that 1) I’m forced to close the eyes if I don’t want wool to get in them and 2) even if I could open the eyes, I wouldn’t be able to see anything.
Not bad for a beginner! I just did 12.5 on my first try, for fun. Maybe I’ll do it for real this week-end. Anyway, you should give this a look: http://www.zonedactylo.com/?page=contest_pi. The WR for 200 digits (with eyes opened) is about 11.2 seconds, mine is about 22 seconds.

Oh and btw, my sight is way too bad to enable me to see further than 30 cm before my eyes, let alone for the screen!
