We think only a record holder can know what you go through to set a record, so we only let people that
have already set world records downvote other people's records.
What can I do?
Go set a record! If you can think of it, you can set a new world record for it.
The play of OXYPHENBUTAZONE, of course, is contrived. What is interesting is that it is not the highest possible. One can score nearly 300 points more with MERCAPTOPURINES. The four-tile play of OXYPHENBUTAZONE uses only two word multipliers, while MERCAPTOPURINES may be played to use three: (M)er(C)apt(O)purine(S). In addition, three crosswords may also be multiplied instead of two, and the additional word multiplier is triple word multiplier.
P.S. To Alex Cunningham. If you would like a solution to the 900+ play, I would be willing to email it to you. I know it can be formed in cooperative play, just as easy as the OXYPHENBUTAZONE recreation.
One of the highest, if not the highest possible four-tile play on "Words with Friends" is MERCAPTOPURINES with the crosswords: AMBISEXUALITY (or SUBMAXILLARY), ACQUIESCENTLY, FOREJUDGING, and NEWSMAGAZINES.
MERCAPTOPURINES, with the C on a triple-letter square and the M, O, and S on word multipliers, has a solo-value that is the beast number, 666.
AMBISEXUALTIY (or SUBMAXILLARY), with the M on a triple-word square, has a value of 90. ACQUIESCENTLY, with the C on a triple-letter square, has a value of 41. FOREJUDGING, with the O on a double-word square, has a value of 60. NEWSMAGAZINES, with the S on a triple-letter square, has a value of 96.
The combined total for the play of the letters of COSM, forming the above given words, is 953. I've submitted an attempt that uses MERCAPTOPURINES, yet it is not this high.
The criteria for this record was changed when Todd submitted. This thread was originally for the highest scoring 4 letter word. The 4 played tiles must connect to spell a 4 letter word, any subsequent words from that 4 letter word are bonuses. Todd is a hack and should be stripped. Oh well. Not trying to be a nag, just stating facts.
Its really an addictive game..I downloaded it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab..Many played this game even my boss played this game..Its fun and interesting..I use the ANAGRAMMER to give me some hints if I'm having a hard time..
this seems suspicious because it is the same exact set up as the one with most points. How is it possible that you can get the same exact letters and same exact set up?
The fact that you set it up yourself and then say you have done it the best. It doesnt matter if it is or isnt impractical, the point is that you did it against your self not agianst another player. This record is about having a better word than anyone else using four tiles by playing against someone else, before it was changes.
Ethan, why are you so determined to debunk my record? Like I said earlier, I could of just used my wife's phone and made the same play. Also, I'm confident that the only way to have made a play like mine in a real game is if you were playing a complete moron and couldn't read the telegraphing plays that lead to the setup. This play was solid, just like oxyphenbutazone. Monster words cannot be played in real games. It's way too impractical.
Exactly why it is a record, if you play a match on your ipod, android, or cell phone against yourself you can plan out your moves accordinglu to the word that you want to make. There is no absolute way to find out if it was against someone who was there, or if it was against himself. To set a record it must be hard to achieve, this is simply too easy. If you do it online against another player, then it should be eligible. If it is against "Player 2", a player that we cannot determine if it is a single player game or not, then it should not be accepted as a record.
Ethan, how do you suggest we succeed in genuinely measuring this? I'm not opposed to you spiritually, but beyond live competitions in which participants are paired with strangers and forced not to communicate, I have no clue how we could enforce such rules. We gave a lot of thought to this challenge before opening it up as we have.
Thats exactly it... It's a puzzle that you can make your pieces to. Large scores such as mine are impractical in a legit game because you'd have to play a complete retard. I could of used my wife's phone and played the same board.

Oh and this is the only guy in the history of the record who played a "2 player" game against himself or someone sitting right next to him.

Its the same problem with the "Highest Single Move 'Words with Friends' Score". Its impressive but not an actual record.

The last guy did not have a 2 player game.
Ethan Losier
you can obviously see that it says: "E6Hatred 387 Player 2 264"
It was a two player game and should be rejected you need to do this online or any body could set it up!
Dan Rollman
I'm with Austin. There's no way to confirm two-person games. In fact, I'm going to remove that from criteria. Awesome play!
Jennifer Wark
What if you don't have the "z"?
Austin N
Yea, so did the last guy... You don't spell 'oosperms' one letter short of the triple word... It was rigged.
Ethan Losier
thats cheap u played against yourself.
Ethan Losier
Well damn lol
Jennifer Wark
Nicely done!
