Record holders have played the instrument at high speeds, shown off their riff repertoires with a little help from Led Zeppelin or Hendrix's back catalogs and even used their guitars as paddles for hitting table tennis balls. Joseph Gunderson completed 137 air guitar windmills in one minute. The windmills were done in the spirit of legendary guitarist Pete Townshend. Windmills can be clockwise or counter-clockwise, but must rotate in the same direction for the full minute.
The feat was achieved on July, 19, 2009 at the Pitchfork Music Festival[] in Chicago. Representatives from URDB.org were present to document the record.

Mike Gamble drank a full bottle of beer through a cocktail straw while shredding on the B string of his electric guitar in 58.25 seconds. His bandmate helped refill the glass while the record was being set.
