Following surgery, Tim Marman needed 54 staples to seal an incision in his mid-body, a new world record. The staples ran from his upper abdomen, down and around the belly button to the upper groin area. Tim Marman was declared to be free of cancer upon completion of the surgery.
The record was set on June 4, 2009 in New York, New York. Tara Licata was present as a witness.

The record was kicked off during a speech by URDB president Dan Rollman at the 2011 Next Conference in Berlin, Germany.
