Hugging World Records  

Led by VTKlustrum, 36 people performed a hug exchange line.

A total of 73 people gathered to set the record for largest group hug in a tent. The huggers ranged in age from 4 to 70 years old. The record was set as part of Hug-A-Thon Pittsburgh.

A total of 250 startup entrepreneurs connected to PushStart joined together for a group hug.

Jeff Stevens of Comedy Central dressed himself as Charles Nelson Reilly and hugged 10 people in one minute. Stevens set the record to raise awareness for Match Game '12, a charity fundraiser for 826NYC. Read more about the event here.

This record was set as part of Prius Records, a two-day event streamed live on the Internet. In a 48-hour period, URDB officials adjudicated 200 Prius-related world records. This was the most records ever documented in a 48-hour window, a world record in and of itself. The event took place in Los Angeles, California on March 30th and 31st, 2011. Melissa Owens embarked upon a personal goal to break a hugging record. She gave out 600 hugs during a flash mob at Portlandrsquo;s Pioneer Courthouse Square[]. Owensrsquo; hugging record was the fifth URDB record to be set by supporters of the OHSU AYA program at the Knight Cancer Institute[].
