Before you turn on your camera, take some time to think about the world record you are about to set. Will you do it alone, or involve your friends? Do you have all the props you'll need? Have you read the rules?
You don't need special equipment or a Hollywood director to document a great record. Focus on telling a great story. Aim to make your video entertaining and concise — rambling intros will scare away viewers. IMPORTANT: If you shoot with your phone, be sure to hold it horizontally.
Our moderation team will quickly process it. If your submission is approved, share it on Facebook, Twitter and beyond. You’re a world record holder!
- The bar must start on solid, level supports below the lifter’s knees.
- Recommended starting height is approximately 20 inches (51 cm) from the floor; the setup must clearly show that the bar is below the knee joint.
- Lift must be performed with a double-underhand hook grip (both palms facing up, thumbs trapped under the fingers).
- No mixed grip. Lifting straps and supportive suits are not allowed unless explicitly stated otherwise in the record notes.
- The lifter must pull the bar to a full standing lockout (hips and knees extended, shoulders back) and demonstrate control before lowering the bar.
- Total weight lifted must be clearly shown or documented.
