Karen Blaney and students from University of Texas at Austin built a cardboard box fort made of 4,123 boxes. They set the record during 2013 America Recycles Day to support and promote recycling.

Participants include the Student-Run Campus Environmental Center, Office of Sustainability, Division of Housing and Food Service, Student Affairs, Facilities Services, the McCombs School of Business, and volunteers.

- fort must be composed primarily of cardboard boxes
- tape and other adhesives permitted
- must follow form of current world record holder
- must provide video evidence
