This is supposed to be 1,692 bounces but I've suggested it be recorded as "13 minutes and 30 seconds (1,692 times)" so bounces no longer need to be counted as the average usually works out to about 20-21 per 10 seconds.

My video was about 14 minutes and I got it down to 20Mb. I used Windows Movie Maker and exported the video for email and wmv, seems to be the smallest. There are other programs to convert to other types but that does the job for me and the quality doesn't need to be great as the video is mostly the same...

Hello Peter! Right after I did this record I did the longest bounces with a tennis ball using alternate sides of a the racket. I went for 20 minutes & 40 seconds. I sent this in as a submission. It was 383mb. I does not have a video in my pending file. Do you know if there is a limit of how big a file can be. Anything over 250mb never seems to go through so they deny me. I am changing that record with a tennis ball from avi to mov. That will cut the mb in almost in half to around 200. The only problem is the quality of the video will not be as good. Any suggestions! Maybe I'll just post it at drop.io/urdbmedia

I've submitted my new attempt at this, failed only because it hit the wall and got another thousand before so would have been 2,800 - so I've suggested this record definitely be changed to "longest time" instead of "most bounces". We both have a similar rhythm of about 20-21 bounces per 10 seconds so time is much easier to measure than counting and going insane for 30+ minutes.

I'd have to agree prolonged abuse of the racket in this way can't be good on the strings and racket so anyone attempting this one avoid using your best rackets :)

Most impressive work Peter. Doubled your own count from the previous entry. Your a man on a mission. Mission not accomplished just yet though (hahaha). As long as I'm breathing I will compete. You are very cool guy with class! Keep up the good work! I'll try this tomorrow.

Actually the nylon strings are really tough. They are like a thick fishing line. With different test strengths. Both easy to cut with scissors but holds enormous weight. I held an 8 lb bowling ball on the tennis racket & the strings didn't even budge. That just gave me an idea for a new record. Longest time to hold an 8lb. bowling ball on a tennis racket with one hand. Thanks Corey!

That can't be good for the strings.

It is true, various tennis racket and ball brands, styles, sizes, strengths... in the end the measurable elements are there, as long as the variations aren't too left field of standard it should be OK, otherwise we'd have 50 records covering all combinations of brand and size.

I am assuming possibly because my submission was made after yours and it's sorted by date? Anyway it's fixed now, thanks again urdb.

It was certainly a close one and I guess a good indication that we're on a fairly level par considering our records are almost the same. I counted 344 for Brian's but that doesn't matter because I'll beat it anyway... :) Good effort Brian, look forward to the continued friendly rivalry, and sorry again to urdb for inflicting the pain of counting a million bounce records!

Thanks everyone at urdb for changing the record around. I know you got a lot going on & you are all stand up people! Thanks again everyone!!!

Not taking anything away from Peter because he is stand up guy. My quarrel is with the moderator. How is Peter the current leader when I have 343 & he has 338.

Congrats Peter! Like I said before we must be twins seperated at birth. We both created this record at the same time! The only problem that I see with tennis racket records in general are that the strings are all different. Some strings give you more bounce. Some strings give you less bounce. Don't stop till the casket drops! That's just another way of saying live life to the fullest!
