Longest Scarf Knit In Two Hours

Alex Young knit a scarf measuring 5 feet, 8 inches in two hours, a new world record. She used size 17 U.S. needles and two huge balls of yarn.

Young knit the scarf on May 20, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society[] event in New York City. Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson were present to document the feat.

    Also she should have cast off before measuring. Cuz it's not a scarf if there is still a knitting needle in it!

    I think that either she misspoke a size 7 US needle is only 4.5mm in diamanter no where near gigantic. A size 17 US needle on the other hand is 12mm in diamanter which looks closer to what she has in her hand.

      Yep, I was so nervous that night that I totally misspoke. They were definitely size 17's--thank you for catching that, David!
