San Francisco, California, United States / February 17, 2009
Jack Woodworth provided a rock band name for each letter of the alphabet in 53.25 seconds, a new world record. He did so while striking a cardboard box with a belt, done in homage to performance artist Ray Johnson.
Woodworth set the record on February 17, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society event at the Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco, California. Dan Rollman and Debbie Hampton were present as witnesses.
- words like "The" and "A" aren't counted in the bands' names
- bands must come from memory and can not be read off list
