We think only a record holder can know what you go through to set a record, so we only let people that
have already set world records downvote other people's records.
What can I do?
Go set a record! If you can think of it, you can set a new world record for it.
I agree Emily, the timelapse is interesting. I like seeing failed attempts and the process leading up to finally setting a benchmark. After seeing the chain fall a few times at the start it makes it all the more tense as more and more coins are added.
I'm happy to open the category but I know some coins are much easier than others so would be nice in future if the category gets HEAPS of submissions to split it back into coin or at least denominational. Do coins in the chain now have to be the same then?
Ryan and Peter -- Changed to "Longest Coin Domino Chain" to open up the category for all. Added criteria to ensure we don't deal with multi-sided coins. Feels like this keeps the category fair for all participants.
I'd put my hand up for separate categories for different coins, but another one which can be the best of any type of coin or combination of coins. It's dissapointing I can't do this record because I don't have any nickels but the Australian 10c piece is a very close match. But I'd use a thicker coin or our 50c piece which isn't round which wouldn't be fair http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiftycentcoin_(Australian)
Hey great record and i want to give it a shot but im English so don't have any nickels can I use a substitute coin (10p maybe??) or should I create a new record??

Louis I support your involvement. Is anyone uncomfortable with us changing the record category to Longest Coin Domino Chain? Speak up if so.

This record needs to get really reallllly high!

Awesome record, Ryan! For future attempts, I think we should insist that coins be counted on camera, either before or after attempt.
