- pole must be at least 12 feet long and 7 inches in diameter
- must use bare hands; gloves are not allowed
- may not receive assistance during the attempt
- timing begins when lifter touches the pole
- timing ends when the pole lands on the ground
- must follow form of current world record holder
- must provide video evidence
