What is the common use of these blocks please?

    • United States Clint Poore

The most common use is for landscaping! or breaking in an Omega Force program. here is a link to Home Depothttp://www.homedepot.com/p/Pavestone-12-in-Red-Curved-Scallop-Concrete-Edger-74951/100192519?keyword=curved+scallop

I hope you agree that the natural curvature of the blocks creates an air gap between each block. If it didn't that would make you Superman. You would in effect be a human Pile Driver ! Once the first block is broken the compound effect of the weight of each additional brick increases the energy in the original strike (by adding mass) through gravitational acceleration. In other words gravity takes over. This does not detract from what has been achieved here as breaking takes many years of practice and body and mind conditioning, I am in awe. What a lot of people do not realise is that the power you produce is only similar to a Pro Heavy- weight Boxer, the difference is , if they tried to punch it they would smash their hands to pieces. I know because StrikeMate (the measurement system) has been used to measure endless Pro-boxers and Breakers all over the world including Shaolin monks. However it begs the question: Is because of this effect it any harder to break 20 bricks or 60?

Kevin, Experience is the best teacher. I would encourage you to go purchase some curved blocks and attempt to break them. That usually solves any discussion. All of Omega Forces videos and records are recorded LIVE in front of an audience, so no retakes, You get one shot at it, and sometimes we miss, One miss that stands out in particular was the head break with curved bricks, it didn't go so well and the bricks won that day.
So is it harder to break 20 or 60? That's really a lack of experience question, if you would go and try these for yourself, it would become quite apparent how difficult they are. Randy had seriously bruised arm from this strike. It takes a tremendous amount of force and willingness to risk injury to perform such a break. You are invited to come see us perform live and witness it for yourself. We would love to have you attend our program. Omega Force started breaking curved bricks about 3 years ago.

Respect Sir, I am mainly interested in the science. that's why I asked the question.

Chris Congratulations on a nice break!

There are some people that will say you broke only 1 concrete block. That first block broke the second one. The second one broke the third. To shut these people up all you have to do is do your 50 block break again but this time do not have any space between the blocks. When you do that they can not say anything about the laws of physics applying and some such nonsense as that. Good job by the way.

Bradford NO Spacers are used when breaking curved bricks. if you will take the tie took look closely at the bricks they are stacked on top of one another.

Here's one of my "failed" breaks a while back...goes to show this is no easy feat!

There is space between each brick. The first brick breaks the second and so forth. The added weight helps after you get so far. Physics my friends. If there was no space it would take a blow from Thor's hammer to break that much solid concrete.

    Hot tamales! Well done, Randy.

    Awesome Power!!!

JennWark I was inspired to do this break when I was being tested for cancer, so in my down and week time a world record feat came to me. I have had struggles since this break and I hope to perform a fifty stack break before the year is out!

EmilyMiethner I've been doing martial arts for nearly 25 years. I got into power breaking about 12 years ago. I do this to inspire others to follow their dreams and break through barriers in their own lives. I run Body Martial Arts, Inc full time, following my own passion! you can check out my site at www.bodymartialarts.com. Hopefully I will be able to perform a fifty stack break. Over the last 2 years I had each of my shoulders operated on, so I've been recovering since Nov '10. Thanks for you interest!

Impressive! Can you tell us some more about this attempt, and will we be seeing more from you?
