    and to answer the dissappearing plant games of this caliber were subject to whats known as glitches...most notably sometimes enemies will dissappear or you can get stuck in a game sprite which enemies will keep coming and coming...most notably ninja gaiden

    This guy is the real deal. He did it live in front of Shigeru Miyamoto. The questionable stuff is all about how hit detection works in the game. So it may look weird, but it's legit.

    wouldn't it have been faster to not jump to the top of the flagpole, but instead to drop, then jump as low as possible on the pole, thus a much shorter slide time? Plus Nate's reply seems very true....

    Second warpzone he took he would have had to climb the vine you dont take the pipe to the mushrooms. Vines take you to the sky where the mushroom warpzone is. This is fake the pipes in this game take you only underground.

      Wrong, pipes only take you underground if the camera is in the correct position. which 99.9% of the time it is.

      However if you screw witht he camera, pipes can take you to the screen warp before or after then. hence 4-2 and 8-4.

    It all looked legit except for the jump through the wall of Bowser's hammers, although with a game that old, he probably just round a hole in the hit detection.
