Current in our case just means that this attempt is the record holder at the moment. I imagine many of these FB records are still being added to, but in order to be considered as a new record, they'd need to be resubmitted.

John - if you can dig up evidence of the message thread, we welcome you to submit it. I don't think you can count the cumulative total of several separate threads, though. That seems like fuzzy math to me.

Friends and I have a message thread now in its third version. All message threads have gone over 1000 messages easily. The most I believe was over 2000. In total there have been about 5/6000 entries to the message thread. Who could say if it was the longest in existence? To be honest we had to split it because looking a previous posts was breaking most peoples computers.
