People, thoughts on how to ensure honesty and quality in this category? I think we should insist on video evidence.

I'm Randy Scott. I am the host of this photo. We started this thread in June 2009. We made a strict rule of only a three comment streak per person. If you went over 3 comments in a row, I deleted it. The content of the thread started off talking about the photo, then gradually became a message board. We originally started this thread with only a goal of 1000 comments, and then gradually increased the goal by 1000 when the goal was reached.
It's an awesome feat. Congrats to all involved. To deter Photoshop cheats in submissions moving forward, I'd love to see future competitors in this record category submit short videos that show the feat living on a computer monitor. It would also be nice to see some or all the participants introducing themselves and talking about the content of the thread, the length of time it took to create it, etc.

Vamsi, is this a public post? If it is, a link would be great -- otherwise, a quick video of the screen will do for evidence. Thanks!

moving forward, we need video evidence for this kind of records.

From a party at my house? I could not be more proud.
Haha wow guys this is EPIC!
Honestly, not even an interesting photo ha. Just a picture of some friends that turned into something bigger and more majestic.
I think Emily's question was more along the lines of "Let's see the original photo that got so many people talking" !
