  • The Internet KNIGHT FUSION

    fake...this is picture

  • United States Tai Star

durring the weeks of building this, I came across a Netherlander 10 ct piece which has a smaller diameter than a dime... Next time I'll balance all the coins on this even smaller coin.

  • United States Tai Star

Phillip If you cant find a american dime, I suggest using the smallest coin of your currency.... I put it on a dime cause its the smallest coin i had 17.91mm . .

  • Canada Dan Rollman

Phillip Is there any way you can get a single U.S. dime? Beyond that, any type of coin is permitted. Can't wait to see you attempt to beat this...

  • The Internet Phillip Souter

i know it say on the criteria to use simular marterial as the record but what happens if you do not have US currecy? i am australian and i would like to attempt this with over 6000, yes i said 6000 coins, that is to the australian currency

  • Africa eva-1 su

    Awesome!!!!

  • United States Kevin Stuart

    5 Stars. Go Tai!

  • United States Matt Davis

Tai said he put his on the corner for stability, I put mine on the corner so I wouldn't have to be hunching over for 8 hours. As for the coins in groups, I'm putting them in groups of 10 on a board for easy counting for next time. It takes a lot longer than you'd think to stack several thousand coins in groups of 10.

  • Australia Peter Craig

WOW, fantastic effort. I see there's still much more life left in this record, keep it coming guys!! Great video evidence and great to see the collapse - what a mess at the end!. Moving forward, there needs to be a way to determine the exact number of coins, by way of a tally board or showing coins in groups of 10 or 100. What is the reason for building on the corner of the desk?

  • Spain Daniel Romero

    incredible...

  • United States Tai Star

its amazing how lopsided it gets before it falls

  • United States Matt Davis

Yea, his was better looking, I'll agree on that. Mine was leaning so I had to pile them on the side so it didn't look neat and tidy.

  • United States Simon Kirk

Awesome Matt. I think Tai's looked more pretty though...

  • United States Emily Patricia

HOLY CRAP! I can't believe someone beat this!!!!

  • United States Jennifer Wark

    Fantastic, Matt!

  • United States Matt Davis

I counted in sets of 100 and kept track on skype where I was streaming it to a few friends. That's why you see me go to the computer and take pictures a few times.

  • United States Rob Birdsong

Matt's record shows the topple over that everyone was hoping Tai's clip showed. Bravo to you both.

  • United States Tai Star

great!! how did you count that?

  • United States Emily Patricia

Tai, this looks like a record you could break! http://recordsetter.com/world-record/poker-chip-sculpture/11746

  • United States Rich Ferguson

Freaking awesome dude!... Looks like you simply ran out of coins. Wish you could have gone until it exploded.

  • United States Dustin James

    this is insane

  • United States Tai Star

it is precariously on the very edge/corner, for a few reasons, to make it easy to see that it is on one dime, and i think the structure of the table is most sturdy there, plus i just like precarious balance

  • United States Tai Star

it took 7 hours of building time

  • Australia Peter Craig

Definitely take plenty of photos from the top, side, underneath. It looks really artistic. And why do you do it precariously on the very edge/corner of the table??

  • United States Emily Patricia

Hey Tai, if you could take some nice photos when you do these crazy records...that'd be so awesome! Would love to have some for our blog and such. Really, great work.

  • United States Alex Cunningham

    You, sir, are a beast.

  • United States Emily Patricia

I watched this with my mouth open. SO COOL.

  • United States Simon Kirk

How many hours did this take you?

  • United States Tai Star

the coins added near the bottom are stuck in the gaps between coins and as you can see at the end they're not touching anything else. it is all still balanced on the dime. but thanks for the observant comment Cyril

  • Philippines Cyril Navidad

Tai, this is a very impressive attempt but i noticed at 8:31 you added some coins at the bottom of the structure which is against the criteria.

  • The Internet Julian Purrinos

    you put glue!!!!!

  • United States Tai Star

three dimes on a quarter for 4 layer then then a bigger coin for 4 layers then a ring of dime for at least 4 layers, and next size coins, pennies nickels quarters. then more dimes, and so on....

  • United States Emily Patricia

What's the strategy behind making the structure hollow?

  • United States Emily Patricia

    Glorious!
