We think only a record holder can know what you go through to set a record, so we only let people that
have already set world records downvote other people's records.
What can I do?
Go set a record! If you can think of it, you can set a new world record for it.
Hey Darryl, I'm wanting to go for this one soon but had some thoughts to clarify as you set up the category, you would be best to clarify whether you think it's still within the spirit of the record. I draw a line for 1.5miles (yay I beat your record). I continue to draw the line all the way back (yay I doubled the record to 3 miles). Is it OK to "overlap" the line side by side back on itself or should it be exclusively a single line going forward and not turn around and come back the other way? If this is OK, then on the way up I'd draw TWO lines with one hand and when I get to the end I'd link the two making it a continuous line back to the start... as long as the line does not cross over itself, is not broken and it is drawn by bending over unassisted. I felt it was stretching the original premise but is still technically and neatly a stretch of chalk line. ALSO a side note, how much chalk did you go through? How much would you recommend you need for 1 mile of chalk line?
It was actually tricky to bend over the whole time, but it was done mostly in the backyard and over a day coming back to it. And wasn't focussed solely on setting a record so was distracted by the fun of it and not trying to be technical :)
That's a fair distance :D I was planning to re-break this record when spring time came around, and the snow clears - did you get a few odd looks I know, I did, lol. Did you find it hard, cause for me it was exhausting.
I don't have a son, just my daughter, Raven - I really did it so the kids could have fun following the line (don't remember hitting anyone).
But I love the Blair Witch comment (that was funny) - The thing about it was I originally didn't think it through, I mean just how hard it was going to be, like bending down, walking backwards - it was killer on the quads.
I mean at first you think, your just drawing a line - you know, lol.

I did this one day with my daughters and we got about 600 metres then went all the way back and turned it into a snake.

Also, the line stops at 6:29!

Also, there's something Blair Witch Project about some of the camera work.

Did he accidentally hit his son? Doesn't seem too concerned.
