United States Matthew F.

Recommend

Washington , District of Columbia, United States / July 6, 2009

Matthew F buried himself beneath a pile of 10 bicycles, a new world record. The count was reduced to 9, however, as one of the bikes was missing a rear tire.

Matthew F set the mark on July 6, 2009 in Washington D.C. Andrew A and Emily H were present as witnesses.

There's no way all these bikes are touching him. I think the spirit of the record is to make the pile as high as possible without injuring the person beneath it. Note: if anyone does try to beat this, please remember the URDB Principles (http://urdb.org/Content/Principles.aspx), specifically "Don't hurt yourself." Make sure you have plenty of people standing by to help.

so i am planning on beating this and would lke to know do the bikes have to be touching the person to count or is it just how many bikes you can get on someone before they start to feel un bearable pain to where the bikes have to be removed?

A bike missing only one tire is AT LEAST one half of a bike. The record should be for 9.5 bikes.

Bike Number 5 seems to be part of the pile. The record should stand at 9!!! Justice!!

Not sure bicycle number 5 can be counted as part of the pile. It is more of a 'leaner', resting against the rest of the bikes of the pile on top of Matthew F Should the count be reduced to 8?
