Expert marksman Doug McManaman shot five balloons with a 22-caliber rifle from a distance of 45 yards away. He performed the feat with his back facing the balloons, using a mirror for aim.

NOTE: This record is dangerous and should only be attempted by trained professionals.

- must have thorough knowledge of guns and gun safety
- must use 22-caliber rifle
- allowed to have misses while setting record

After watching the video, I feel very comfortable and there are many new things to know skribblio

Surely it depends on the type of surface behind the balloons. The balloons could pop from debris etc...

what about if i hit 5 balloons with 5 shots say in 7 min. then to break record someone would have to hit 5 balloons with 5 shots under 7 minutes so it would be a timed event would that work

  • Canada Doug McManaman

Fewest shots to hit 5 balloons at 50 yds so the record would start out at x number of shots. is that what you mean Dan.

How about altering to Fewest Shots Needed To...? The negative is that there's an obvious end point, but it would be fun to see people aim to the first one to go five for five.

    HI Dan

You are absolutely right sorry for the oversight . What do you think how about 5 balloons in no more than 8 shots and no more than 8 min total u could cut down the number of shots to 7 if you like but it will take between 5 and 8 min as it takes time to align sites from shot to shot especially when i get out to 50 yds. that will be my next one. I will leave it with you and will trust your good judgement ok say hello to all the gang for me .thanks doug

Can we add a time limit or shot maximum to the criteria? As it stands, one could hypothetically spend hours and take thousands of shots in order to beat the record.
