Colin Nissan

In homage to his love of food, Colin Nissan sets a new universal record by opening a can of Campbell’s Alphabet Soup and spelling out ‘PANTYHOSE’ in one minute, 25.77 seconds.

Nissan set the record on January 7, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society event in New York City. He opened a standard size (10.5 ounces) pop top lid can, strained the letters, and then spelled out ‘PANTYHOSE’ using letters from the soup. Ronnie Gensler and Nicholas Fritzhand were present to document the achievement and confirm proper spelling.

Joe Pfetzer

Joe Pfetzer scored 75 points after playing a single letter in a game of Scrabble. Pfetzer placed the letter ‘I’ in the word ‘Quietly’ on a triple word score box. This resulted in the spelling of QUIETLY (69 points) and WEE (6 points).

Taylor Priest spelled the word “BALL” using M & M’s in 15.28 seconds.

Nery Rodriguez

Nery Rodriguez spelled quot;supercalifragilisticexpialidociousquot; in 3.75 seconds, a new world record.

Laura All

Laura All spelled 43 words using the letters in ‘SAUCONY ORIGINALS’ in one minute, a world record. One-letter words weren’t accepted, but two-letter words were OK. She wasn’t allowed to read words from a computer-generated list.

All achieved the feat on July 19, 2009 at the Pitchfork Music Festival[] in Chicago, Illinois. Representatives from RecordSetter.com were present to document the record.

Adam Pollock

Adam Pollock spelled out “I (Heart) PICKLED HERRING” with pickled herring and ate it in three minutes, 33.81 seconds. Timing began when he started spelling, and stopped when he’d finished eating. Herring for the record was donated by Russ amp; Daughters.

Pollock achieved the feat on August 12, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation[] society event in New York City. Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson were present as witnesses.
