Doug McManaman

Doug McManaman traveled 100 yards in snowshoes while carrying a 54-pound bag of potatoes on his back in two minutes and 53.59 seconds.

The Record Collection

Craig Morrison and Sam Stilson of The Record Collection both fit 21 pounds of potatoes in their pants in one minute. They competed to see who could fit the most potatoes by weight, but ended up tying.

The pre-record weight of Craig Morrison was 160 pounds, while Sam Stilson weighed 191.5 lbs.At the weigh-in afterwards, Craig weighed 181 pounds and Sam weighed 212.5 pounds.

The record was set at a St. Patrick’s-themed World Record Appreciation Society[] event held at Joe’s Pub in New York City. Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson were present as witnesses.

Doug McManaman

Doug McManaman balanced seven potatoes on top of a pole on his chin for two minutes, 34.78 seconds while listening to Bud the Spud. He dedicated the record to the late Stompin' Tom Connors.

ToTsreferenced potatoes 30 times in his rap song “Crispy.”DJ Mix Master Mash provided beats for the song.

ToTs, who raps only about potatoes, recently raised money through Kickstarter[] to produce a full-length album. The Coup De Tots will be released in 2010.
