Colin Nissan

In homage to his love of food, Colin Nissan sets a new universal record by opening a can of Campbell’s Alphabet Soup and spelling out ‘PANTYHOSE’ in one minute, 25.77 seconds.

Nissan set the record on January 7, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society event in New York City. He opened a standard size (10.5 ounces) pop top lid can, strained the letters, and then spelled out ‘PANTYHOSE’ using letters from the soup. Ronnie Gensler and Nicholas Fritzhand were present to document the achievement and confirm proper spelling.

Frankie Norstrad

Frankie Norstad refrained from too much obscenity when she recited 46 four-letter words in one minute, an all-new world record. She ably employed homonyms (like “bear” and “bare”) and used only one word that could not be counted (“poot,” which could not be found in any dictionary).

Norstad set the record on February 17, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society[] event at the Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco, California. Dan Rollman and Debbie Hampton were present as witnesses.

Andrew James Black

Andrew James Black sets world record for the longest word or phrase spelled using only fingers and hands. Black spelled quot;boy toy,quot; a six-letter phrase. His feat beat the previous record of quot;bloodquot; by one letter.

Black set the record on March 25, 2009 at his home in Hamilton, Ontario.

Alex Cunningham

Alex Cunningham scored 132 points after placing one tile during a game of Scrabble.

Tim Atkinson

Tim Atkinsonposted 34 consecutivetweetsusing every letter of the English alphabet.

Nick Pascarella

Nick Pascarella recited the entire alphabet in 1.86 seconds.

Lucy Smith

Lucy Smith and Sophia Lipkin ink stamp the entire English alphabet in one minute and 56.32 seconds, a new world record. The letters were stamped in alphabetical order.

The girls performed the feat on April 4, 2009 at the first annual Brooklyn World Record Day in Brooklyn, New York. The event was held by URDB in conjunction with Beam Camp. Dan Rollman was present as a witness.

Laura All

Laura All spelled 43 words using the letters in ‘SAUCONY ORIGINALS’ in one minute, a world record. One-letter words weren’t accepted, but two-letter words were OK. She wasn’t allowed to read words from a computer-generated list.

All achieved the feat on July 19, 2009 at the Pitchfork Music Festival[] in Chicago, Illinois. Representatives from RecordSetter.com were present to document the record.

Adam Pollock

Adam Pollock spelled out “I (Heart) PICKLED HERRING” with pickled herring and ate it in three minutes, 33.81 seconds. Timing began when he started spelling, and stopped when he’d finished eating. Herring for the record was donated by Russ amp; Daughters.
