Language World Records

Using a crowdful of volunteers to help him, Opus Moreschi had Post-It notes with a total of 356 unique adjectives written on them attached to his body. The most popular adjective attached was “douchey”, though duplicates weren’t counted. Moreschi set the record at a World Record Appreciation Society event held at Joe’s Pub in New York City. A group of 42 people composed of social workers, interpreters, and nurses, stand up against cancer in the most languages.

Two student campers from iD Tech Camps Ohio State University sang "Happy Birthday" in two different languages in 5.92 seconds. They sang in Spanish and Hebrew. [#iDTech][]

23 people gathered on November 15, 2010 to discuss adolescent and young adult cancer patients and families in and around Portland, Oregon. At the end of the meeting everyone said“Rompe el cancer” at once. The gathering was hosted by the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute Adolescent[] and Young Adult Oncology Program and the External Advisory Committee. The 23rd person to participate in this world record was the cameraman.

Jonathan A. named the days of the week and counted to ten in English in 2.55 seconds.

Kiiofutterwacken named the days of the week and counted to ten in Spanish in 3.97 seconds.

Lakshya J. introduced himself in 11 different languages, stating both his name and where he’s from.

Arthur B. recited the Spanish alphabet in 3.02 seconds.

Record setter spelled the word antidisestablishmentarianism in 3.35 seconds.

A total of 10,702 students participated in a writing contest in Tamil language. They set the record at ClinicPlus Gateway 2013 organized by Lifebuoy and Elite Circle at Codissia Trade Fair Complex in Tamil Nadu, India.

Hudson Group employees spoke a total of 25 holiday greetings in different languages. They set the record to showcase their company's diversity.
