The fan, a Vornado S2–40 model was set on high as the Lucky Strike cigarettes were lit with a drugstore lighter of unknown make and model. Farrell set the record on February 17, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society[] event at the Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco, California.
