The Woolmark Company has created the world's Longest Social Scarf. Each of the 16,460 participants created their own section of scarf, adding their photo and customizing the scarf design before sharing it with friends through Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter. See list of participants here.

Fastest Time To Knit A Scarf And Wrap It Around An Iguana In A Prius

This record was set as part of Prius Records, a two-day event streamed live on the Internet. In a 48-hour period, URDB officials adjudicated 200 Prius-related world records. This was the most records ever documented in a 48-hour window, a world record in and of itself.

Longest Scarf Knit In Two Hours

Alex Young knit a scarf measuring 5 feet, 8 inches in two hours, a new world record. She used size 17 U.S. needles and two huge balls of yarn.

Young knit the scarf on May 20, 2009 at a World Record Appreciation Society[] event in New York City. Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson were present to document the feat.
