Oho. It's really very cool, respect. I think this is a good video to share.

  • United States Amber Greenwood

Is this even possible? Jesus, it really seems to be impossible!

  • The Internet Mick liguori

    how

  • The Internet owen smith

his legs nearly snapped he should never lock his legs when doing a leg press!! also the rules clearly state that it needs to move 12 inches to count as a rep. no way in hell did that move 12 inches in total hahahhahahahahhahahah

  • The Internet James O'Rourke

Faulkner is correct on foot placement. I use 1 inch above bottom of plate as a rule for the bottom of my heal. My machine tops at 1,740#. Reps with 10 to 12 inches of motion give a great muscle group workout. 55 years old, 22 knee surgeries, 1 hip surgery. I would need braces to go deeper. A lift off at the weight in the video deserves respect. O'Rourke

  • The Internet Hammyweight

Does that even count as 1 rep... wtf was that

There is so much variance in angles with leg press machines. So There can not be a world record as long as there are different machines used.

I am 43 years old have no have litte to no cartledge in my knees and did 1200kg

  • The Internet Jackie cox

69 years old I pressed 405 single arm press nautilus on each arm 10 reps. It required extensions to load 9 forty five pound plates on each side, now at 72 I regularly press more than 300 on each arm, the most plates possible

Same weights on the lift nautilus

I am a 13 year old and can do 300 with a 90 degree, but nothing anywhere close to that.

WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR MAXIMUM IN THE LEG PRESS EVENT.. PRETTY DOESN'T COUNT ASS HOLES.. I DON'T WORK OUT TO IMPROVE MY STYLE.. THAT'S FOR BALLET DANCERS

    • The Internet Robert martin

When I work out on the Leg Press machine.. I do full extentions. starting with 450 540 630.. Over 720 I do partials and my reps are higher 50. I've done in one set 100 partials with 1000 lbs. and the highest in speed rep attempt up to 1840. We ran out of weights. I enjoy speed reps doing partials.. On the upper body on a given day I like 5 sets of 100 reps (partials) on the Hoist Incline press. 130 150 200 230 250 my reps drop to 75 with 275 300 as I work myself up to 400 lbs. I consider these exercises to aerobic in nature and great for the heart lung. By the way. I'm 83 years old. Back to the Leg press I like to do sets of 50 reps with a thousand. ... several sets.

    • The Internet amirarshia amiri

83 year old!!!!!!!!!!!! you know this is bell shit 100 reps of 455 kg !!!! har har har . even ronnie colman cant do that !! so you can do that ,ha?? ok, why dont you put the fucking video. it will be world record forever!!!! lier

    Most knee bends*

  • The Internet data

Na it was pussy press and he did 10 reps of it.

  • The Internet tavish wardell

Not even close to one damn leg press

  • The Internet Cody Brown

I didn't see one leg press there a full press is a noticable v bend in the leg you bassically did calf presses. yea that alot but put it in the right catagory

  • The Internet ian boyd

That was a partial and incorrect leg press. The knees should make a 90 degree angle not a 10 degree angle. He doesn't have proper foot placement, should be placing the weight on his heels not the toes, he also fully extended his knee placing all of the weight on his joints, not very good. If you cant do it correctly you have to much weight or you don't know what your doing, both will get you injured, if not right then in due time.

  • The Internet Mark Alan

I'm trying to get around that number even tro I have some ways to go but I would be worried the leg press could not handle the weight, I think the leg press where you lay flat would be a better way to handle that amount of weight and I can do about 500 pound on the one you lay flat and 1215 on the one he is using. I'm hoping to get to about 2000 sometime this year and I would like to say that if you can even come close to that amount the right way your one in 1,000,000 or so because no one not even me who is the strongest person in legs in all the gyms I go to can do that amount of weight and I agree he seems to be doing calf raises yet at that amount thats still good not sure if I could or would even try and this point as if it drop below to far it could crush you.

  • The Internet adam

how wasnt that guy watching you laughing his ass off at how ridiculous you are doing whatever it is you think you were doing in this video....it sure wasnt lifting

    • United States Rich Kedzierski

No shit, theres a lot of these so called records but not a single rep was ever done

  • The Internet Nicolas Laraway

I do a fraction of that weight, but my knees touch my chest...

    • The Internet Robert martin

What you are doing is a different exercise...From reading the responses the guys are comparing the weight and style to the way they are doing it. WORK OUT TO DEVELOP ENERGY.... AND BUILD STAMINA..Comparing everyone's way doing a Leg Press.. is pointless as I'm reading that they are all doing it differently.. which is OK.. but you can't put a Right or Wrong on the exercise.

  • The Internet Nicolas Laraway

I do a fraction of that weight, but my knees touch my chest...

    • United States Jason A Faulkner

Don't hurt your hip pointers going that far... I've done it some dumbass bodybuilder 15 yrs ago told me to go knees. only break 90 degress is all u need kid

    • United States Rich Kedzierski

For a ego boost sure which is all your videos prove, but for true proper rep your thighs must be parallel to the sled. try doing your Ego lifts in a competition and youll be disqualified on every one

  • United States Alex Cunningham

    That was not 12 inches.

  • The Internet Robert Grutza

That is extremely unimpressive considering the range of movement.

  • The Internet chris hamilton

I did 1800 lbs leg press when I was 17 years old, Concordia High School, Concordia, Kansas, April 1970. This was a 2 foot lift. I don't know if this is a record or not, but I did it again a year ago at the Topeka downtown YMCA, and I'm 60 years old. I'll do it any day you want.

  • The Internet Umit

I did 1900lb, 10 reps, and I'm putting it on YouTube soon. I go 90 degrees down and fully back up. The reason why I did 1900lb is because the machine couldn't hold on anymore weights, and I'm 16 years old :p

  • The Internet Umit

I did 1900lb 10 reps and I'm pitting it on YouTube soon, and I go 90 degrees and back up. The reason why I did 1900lb is because the machine couldn't hold on anymore weights, and I'm 16 years old :p

  • The Internet Ryan Wood

Ok, let's assume everything that you said was true Joe. Even if you were "forced me to do a shallow lift" then "each press must move 12 inches up and down in a controlled manner" is still pretty clear. So, instead of making excuses trying to defend it, you should chalk it up as the FAILED attempt that the video shows it to be. Otherwise you just make yourself look like an ass.

  • The Internet John Shea

I am 12 years old and I can do 350 lbs

  • The Internet Kyle Lybeck

Yea... I really don't know about that. I know I'm nowhere near that weight, but I do 500lbs, and my legs come wayyyyyy further back than this guy ever made it. I had a personal trainer show me how, and these were definitely not a leg press, more like a tiny calf extension. Plus, you are NEVER supposed to lock your knees, which you did twice. Enjoy a knee blowout dude.

  • The Internet JDiesel Σχ

hey joe, do 2600 with knee wraps. i'd love to see it.

  • The Internet JDiesel Σχ

and where was his 12 inches of movement. i saw 2 inches. lol

  • The Internet JDiesel Σχ

no lets bend your legs and see if you could even do 1 rep.

  • I myself use a similar range of motion as to that being used by Joseph Holt. Unless you do not wish to seriously injure yourself for the rest of your life it is madness to attempt a full range of movement without the use of straps or a support belt. I personally commend the guy for an awesome demonstration of strength. Instead of people criticising what they have seen use it as a tool to fuel your own workouts and goals. At the moment, I can personally lift 1500IBS, completing 4 sets of 8 reps (without straps etc) and my own individual body weight is a mere 11 stones, 8IBS. Upon watching the video it encourages me to go much higher, and therefore please do not knock what the guy has achieved in the video as it is a waste of your time, time that could be used trying to beat what he has achieved in a gym. Well done Josepth!

  • United States Daniel Nodal

either beat his record according to his vid and criteria, or make your own record, I see some bold ass comments about lifting insane amounts just because he's moving about an inch, please....... go ahead and try either and submit so we can be entertained..... good job bro your a powerful dude.....

  • United States Tim Marman

I don't know how to classify this, but I think it's pretty clear that these are not "leg press repetitions". I used to put a bench under a squat rack and lift 800+ lbs several times to get my joints used to heavier weights... but to say that me lifting the weight several inches was the equivalent of a "bench press repetition" would be very silly. And, to be honest, it doesn't look like many of the reps even move 12"... not that I would consider that a rep anyway.

  • Great job Joe. Seems there are always haters who'd rather whine about what you did not do rather than surpass what you did do. Keep up the good work. Ike

  • it mabey moved t 12 inches all together.

  • You got a problem with reading comprehension? It doesn't say it was moved 12". It says to beat it YOU have to move it 12" without leg wraps or braces. Looks like you're the joke.

  • he is not moving it 12 inches. not even close. come on, this is a joke!

  • Canada Dan Rollman

Can someone please lay out what defines a "regulation lift"?

    • United States Rich Kedzierski

IN leg press the thighs must be parallel to the sled platform in which your feet are on.

  • WHAT THE HELL? this is bs, little dumb lifts does not count as 1 rep. I can lift 1000000000 lb as long as i can just move it 1 inch? i'd like to set that record then.

  • LOL Naysayers....I'm so tired of seeing people jump on "oh that's not the way it's done" BS....tell you what kiddies, why don't you put up....otherwise, shut yer hole, nobody really cares....

  • United States Joseph Holt

And what is your leg press dave? I press 1000 with one leg and don't use any performance enhancement.

  • United States Joseph Holt

Hi, this is Joe. The one who did the lift. You're right, it does appear shorter than a standard leg press, however, two factors forced me to do a shallow lift. 1) without the use of leg raps the knees are only equipped to take so much pressure, with leg raps I could have easily broken 2600. 2) If you watch in the beginning of the lift the weights begin to come off, the camera man has to rush over to help hold the weights as does my spotter. I welcome a challenge worth my time to do more weight lower but it would have to be for actual competition or monetary gain. Thanks for your comments.

    • The Internet Travis Myers

Okay then why dont you put on knee wraps and have two spotters on each side to hold the wieghts and then film it. Because this isnt even a work out. Its all usless movements. Hahaha. No excuses for fake "records" and you cant set a record with out having an official record recorder their so this was basically a waste of time. Im not saying you cant do it. But prove to me you actually can. Get the proper equipment and two spotters and do it right other wise dont claim that you have broken a record which you clearly haven't. Hahaha

  • Canada Dan Rollman

Dave, can you provide some more specifics? Is there a way we can fork this record into two categories: one that follows Joseph's form and one that follows competition rules? Joseph, care to respond/defend?

    • United States Jason A Faulkner

I DID 2,500LBS/10 REPS IN FEB. 2008. I HAD TWO COPIES. IF I CAN FIND THE ONE I HAD STASHED AWAY IT WOULD BE GREAT. IT HAD A 3,300LB MAX CAPACITY. I BOUGHT IT FROM NEW YORK. IT TOOK ALOT OF WORK TO GET 90 DEGREES ON IT. TRIPLE LOAD CENTER, HUGE MACHINE!! I HAD KNEE BRACES AND DID 10 90 DEGREE REPS. IT WAS HELLA TOUGH!! I MISSED 3,000 BARELY

    • United States Jason A Faulkner

IF I CAN FIND THE VIDEO IT'LL SHOCK THE WORLD!! I HAVE PICS AN 6 WITNESSES. I GOT RID OF IT BECAUSE I HAD IT IN A STORAGE FACILITY. A LEG PRESS OF MOST THEN 90 DEGREES CAN INJURE THE HIP POINTERS. LEG PRESS A LIFTER MUST BREAK A 90 DEGREE RIGHT ANGLE WITH THEIR LEGS, LIKE SITTING IN A CHAIR. I ONCE DID A 1,200LB LEG PRESS ONE LEGGED I GOT 9 REPS N I DECIDED I HAD A CHANCE TO BEA A WORL RECORD N BOUGHT THE MACHINE I HAD.

    • United States Jason A Faulkner

PRESSING OVER 2,000LBS. IS DIFFERENT THE PRESSURE ON THE FEET, ANKLES, AND LOWER BACK ARE VERY STRANGE. DOING 2,500LBS. CAN SWELL OR BRUISE THE FEET. THE BODY HAS TO BUILD A MUCH HIGHER TOLERANCE TO THE FORCE. IT'S A RUSH!!!

    • United States Jason A Faulkner

IF I KEPT THE MACHINE IT'D DO THE WEGH AGAIN OR TRY TO. YOU'VE GOTTA HAVE KNEES AND HIPS OF HEAVY STEAL FOR THIS WEIGHT THO.

    • United States Jason A Faulkner

THERE'S A HUGE TRICK TO DOING WAY MORE WEIGHT TOO. IF YOU PUT THE MID POINT OF YOUR HEALS ON THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE PLATE. IT MAXIMIZES POWER THROUGH THE HEALS. THE HEALS ARE STRONG AND ARE A KEY TO DRIVING THE WEIGHT UPWARD. WHEN THE LEGS ARE ON OTHER PARTS OF THE PLATE THERE'S A SLIGHT SHIFT IN THE LOWER LEGS. PUTHARDES PART OF HEALS ON VERY BOTTOM OF TREAD PLATE AND DRIVE THE WEIGHTS

    • United States Jason A Faulkner

SORRY BOUT THE TYPING THE KEYBOARD STICKS.

  • These so called Lifts do not comply with regulation lifts as required in bona fide competition.. In fact we are unsure what you accomplished with this minimal display of prowess. Get a grip. Get a form call back when you have a grown up to compete. Dave

    • United States Greg Cochran

There are no guidline as the LEG PRESS is not regulated lift as the becnh press, dead lift or squat. He set a ecord based on guidelines that he set which is fine, its there for anyone to break it. Someone above said this isnt even a workout, well its not supposed to be a workout, its a record, with guidelines just like all theother records on here. Is it a proper leg press by exercise definition? No? Did he claim it was? No. He set guidelines. Period
